Dennison needs our financial support and now it is easier than ever.  Did you know that our school receives only $114 per student to buy everything that the student needs for the entire year? This includes all textbooks and consumable workbooks, computers, supplies, field trips, in short, everything!  And while our teachers and school administrators do an absolutely herculean job of creating incredible success at Dennison with so little, they need our help.  Luckily, there is something that we can all do without any out-of-pocket expense for us or our families.

Everybody needs to buy groceries, fill prescriptions, and fill up their gas tanks.  Whenever you shop at King Soopers or Safeway for any of the above items, use Dennison debit cards or gift cards to make your purchase and Dennison receives 5% of the total!  It’s that easy!  And the best part is that we raise money to pay for badly needed school resources and equipment such as computers, smart boards, textbooks and even Teacher’s Assistants just by buying things that we would have bought anyway!  It’s a no-brainer!

Here is how the program works:

King Soopers:

The King Soopers Reloadable Debit card works just like a pre-paid debit card.  You buy the card for $25 and it contains $25 that can be used to buy groceries, pay for prescriptions, and even pay for gasoline at stores with a gas center.  You can reload or place additional money onto your card using cash, checks or credit cards at any King Soopers cashier, service desk or gas station attendant.  How much you put on at one time is completely up to you.  When you recharge the card, Dennison receives 5% of your reload amount.  You then use the card just like a normal credit card to purchase groceries, medication and even at the gas pump.  Any cashier or gas pump can also tell you how much money you have remaining on the card at any time.  Best of all, you can buy cards for family and friends and when they recharge it, Dennison still gets 5%!  It’s easy, quick, and a great way to support your school.

Safeway:
Safeway Gift Cards work just like any other gift card.  You buy cards in $25, $50 or $100 denominations.  When you buy cards, 5% of the face value goes to the school.  Then, whenever you buy groceries, prescriptions or gasoline at Safeway gas centers, scan the card just like a normal credit card and the total is automatically deducted from the card.  When the card is empty, simply discard it or hand it to the cashier for recycling (DO NOT recharge it as Dennison receives nothing from recharges).  It’s fast, easy and gives the school resources that are badly needed in this challenging economic environment.

Dennison Community Support Fund (DCSF) runs the King Soopers/Safeway card program, and was formed in 2003 by dedicated parents concerned about school budget cuts and how this would negatively impact the education of our children.  In the last eight years, through the generosity and commitment of school parents, money has been raised to provide badly needed resources for our school, including:

  • All Math, Science, Language Arts and Social Studies textbooks since 2003
  • All classroom sound systems
  • All classroom Smartboards
  • Salaries for Teacher Assistants
  • Library books
  • And much, much more
DCSF gladly accepts donations in any amount, and all money goes directly to our school. DCSF is entirely parent run, so if you are able to volunteer some of your time to help our efforts, it would be sincerely appreciated.

Thank you for your support!  It is through the efforts of you and other proud Dennison parents that we will keep Dennison strong both now and well into the future.
